Since the geology and mineralization at El Tigre are complex and were poorly understood during previous exploration phases, the Company has contracted specialists, Dr. Wolfgang Morche and Dr. Peter Lewis, to assist in the exploration of this property. Dr. Wolfgang Morsche has a Ph.D. in volcanology and ten years of experience in Peru, both with the Peruvian Geological Survey, INGEMMET, and major companies. Dr. Peter Lewis specializes in structural geology and consults for several senior mining companies worldwide. Exploration planned for the property includes a first phase of geological mapping, rock chip sampling, geophysical surveys and a second phase comprised of drilling. The first phase program is expected to be completed by the end of the year with the intention that drilling would be carried out during the first quarter of 2001.
Exploration continues on the Picota and Las Brujas properties. The company is continuing with systematic programs of stream sediment sampling, rock chip sampling, trenching, geological mapping, alteration and petrographic studies. The Company continues to be pleased with results and will release more details once current work has been compiled. Please refer to the Company's previous two releases for a complete explanation of the results to date on these properties. The current exploration programs are expected to be completed before the Andean rainy season starts in November.
